State police are asking for the public’s help in finding out how a woman ended up dead on a Connecticut highway.

The woman was found around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, when troopers were dispatched to I-691 in Meriden by a caller who said someone was lying on the highway, said the Connecticut State Police.

When troopers arrived on the scene, they found the woman who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, state police said.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
